Things have been going well now that everyone is home. We have gotten a little more into a routine as the days go on. The first few days home, I found that Giabella enjoyed sleeping straight between feedings during the day and wanted to randomly hang out at night. She would wake up, want her pacifier, to be held and be very alert. So while I thought I would be able to get some sleep at night because of how much she slept during the day, I was misled and quickly learned I needed to take any opportunity she gave me to get sleep.
Yesterday was her one week appointment. She weighed in at 5lb 9oz, almost back up to her birth weight. The doctor said that we could start trying to breastfeed every feeding now that she is eating so well. This is a huge relief to me because it cuts my side of the feeding time in half. Instead of having to pump and then feed, I can just do the fun part, sit with her and let her eat. The doctor said everything else is looking great and that Giabella is doing awesome. Again, we are so proud at how far she has come over the past week.

Although Giabella sleeps a lot, she has yet to spend much time in her crib! During the day she is either in her swing, on the floor, being held, laying on our chest, in her sling, or just about anywhere else except in her crib. Last night was the first night she slept between feedings and spent the entire time in her crib. Which was very nice for me because it was my first time sleeping between three consecutive feedings!
