But she made leaps and bounds in the last few days. Friday night they took out the oxygen tube and she did great. Saturday, they started nipple (bottle) feeding her and she actually pulled her own tube out during the day! Giabella knew she was ready so took it upon herself to help her nurse out. By the end of the day she was a bottle eating champ and making us very proud. She looks so much different already with all the tubes out.
We thought she might be able to go home on Sunday, but although she made so much progress, they still wanted to keep her one more night since her breathing was still a little fast. So we hung out all day Sunday and worked on my Mommy skills since they were lacking from not being able to spend much time with her. Jason got to spend some quality time...she reminds me of him so much.

Monday, she made even more progress by having her second successful breastfeed. Since she was premature she needs to take her time breastfeeding, only doing it a few times a day at first and working her way up. Partly because it wears her out and she gets really tired while feeding and also to make sure she gets enough to eat every time, which it is hard to do with breastfeeding. But with the progress she has made so far, I know she will be a breastfeeding machine in no time.
Since Giabella has been doing so well, we all went home today at 3pm and have been doing great. Her and I took a little nap the second we walked in the door. It has been a tiring last few days and we are ready to start hanging out in the comfort of our own home.
