It has been over a week since my last post yet it seems like I just put pictures up yesterday. Our days are jam packed, yet it feels like we haven’t done anything. Everyone tells you it will be like this, but it is quite the shock when it actually happens.
We have been going for walks around the apartment complex in the stroller. I feel better about walking faster and for a longer period of time with the stroller than when I am carrying her in the sling. She sleeps the entire time, so I am assuming she likes it.

The mittens and socks were almost immediately taken off by Giabella |
On Wednesday we went to visit Jason at work and introduced Giabella to all the Southern coaches. It is so funny to see so many men say how cute she is and that they just lover her. Not something you think you would hear out of a bunch of football coaches. Then we got dinner with Jason and then headed back to home base. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of our outing, which I am bummed about.
Thursday we went to the doctor for Giabella’s two week appointment. She weighed 6lb 1oz and everything is looking great. She gained half a pound this past week and is having no problem eating. In fact she is starting to wear me out with her appetite. It amazes me how much a two week old baby as small as her can eat. And she is quite impatient. Whether I wake her to eat or she wakes up on her own, she goes from sleeping to screaming when she is hungry. I have to make sure everything is ready to go so we can start to eat as quickly as possible so she doesn’t get too worked up. When she gets upset she can work herself into quite a frenzy with no return.
She is also a very aggressive eater. All babies open their mouths and move their heads forward to eat, but Giabella takes it up another notch. Sometimes Giabella will open her mouth, shake her head furiously back and fourth and lunge her head forward like she is on the attack. It is usually combined with swinging arms that get in the way and she ends up sucking on her arm or hand for a few seconds before she realizes that was not what she was looking for. When we give her a bottle, she does not get sleepy so she is very alert when we burp her. The second you prop her up and put your hand on her chin, she turns her head and starts sucking vigorously on your finger. If you put her on your shoulder to burp, she will turn her head down and start sucking on your shoulder. And if you wait too long to start feeding her again, she will let you know with a wailing scream. She just can’t get enough.

I am trying to burp her, but she would rather eat my thumb |
Giabella has also been getting some tummy time on the quilt her Granny June got her. I am so surprised how much she can push herself up. She pulls her head up all the time when she lays on my chest, but when she is on the floor she really uses her arms to get up pretty high. We weren’t able to capture any good pictures of her when she got up, but here are a few of her hanging out on her tummy.
The rest are just some pictures of us hanging out.
