So very thankful

We are exceptionally thankful this year.  For a healthy baby girl, supportive family and friends who have helped us out in so many ways and so much more.  Giabella is growing right in front of our eyes.  At her three month doctors appointment on Monday, she weighed 12lb 9oz and measured 23in.  She is becoming a plump little thing.  She is so much fun to be around now that she is smiling and responding to us.  She is picking things up, interested in everything around her and making noises, her attempt to speak with us.  Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

Molly came to visit this past week which was awesome!  We had someone to hang out with us all week and help out.  It was especially great over the weekend while Jason was away at his game.  We watched Robbie and Chloe a few days while Molly was here.  On Friday we went to the zoo.  It was a beautiful day and the zoo was empty.

Mother and Baby monkeys

There was a Mother monkey with it's baby attached around it's waist.  The baby held on and went with the Mother everywhere she went.  It was very cute.  Molly held Giabella as we walked through the zoo.  We could tell she was getting a little hungry when she started sucking on Molly's arm while we were learning about the otters.  After we took a break for Gbell to eat, she felt much better and was calm again!

On Saturday, we ran some errands and Giabella was sporting her Wisconsin shirt while we were shopping.  As you can see, we use her car seat as a purse.

Giabella has been changing so much.  She is much more aware of her surroundings and has started to grab things.  She loves to stand up when you hold her and is constantly moving around and smiling.  For awhile Giabella cried when you changed her diaper or sometimes in the bath, but now she is calm and enjoying both!  She is definitely a pleasure to be around!

So big!

On October 27, Giabella had her 2 month appointment.  We were anxious to find out how much she weighs to see how she has grown in the past month.  She weighed 10lb!  Gbell also had to get some shots while at the doctor, and we have a picture of her cute bandaids.

Shots!

Aunt Jess wanted to get Giabella dressed up in cute outfits everyday, so we broke out her mini skirt one day to go get lunch with Jason.

Grandma got Giabella a pacifier with a little giraffe attached which is supposed to sit on their stomach and keep the pacifier in the baby's mouth.  But Giabella likes to hold on to the giraffe and usually ends up pulling on it and taking the pacifier out of her mouth.

Aunt Steffi and Uncle Casey also came to visit for the weekend and Nonnie came on Saturday.  Jess, Casey, Steffi and I went to Jason's game while Gbell stayed back with her Nonnie.  It was homecoming so there was quite the crowd and it was very exciting to get a win!  As usual, I forgot to take pictures at the game, but here are a few of us just hanging out.

This past weekend Giabella and I went to NJ for Katie’s baby shower.  She did awesome on both flights.  On the way there, the flight was not crowded so I got to bring on the car seat and she got her own seat.  On the way home I had to carry her on my lap and, of course, got a middle seat.  She did great, but I was a little uncomfortable for three hours.

When we got to Jim and Katie’s, the Mamaroo had just arrived so we thought we would try it out on Miss Gia.  She loved the mobile…in fact, we finally caught a few pictures of her smiling!  Over the past few days, she has started smiling more and more often; it is the most amazing feeling to see her smile.  I am addicted to it and when she is awake I am doing everything I can to try and make her smile.  I love it!

This last photo is of her feet sticking out from the nursing cover while I was nursing at the airport.  I thought it was so cute that I had to take a picture.
